The Angel Trail

Dear parents, carers and friends of Shaftoe Trust,

Our children are currently working alongside St Cuthbert’s, Haydon Bridge to spread some happy, positive messages of hope support around our community by focussing on the theme of Angels.

Children are going to be very busy creating beautiful angels in school. They will also be writing some messages of hope to be displayed with their angels. Once they are completed, we will be sending the angels and their messages home and we hope that families will display their angels in their windows so friends and neighbours can read the messages from the children. Between the church and the school we are hoping to get as many angels as possible displayed in windows across the whole of Haydon Bridge.

We will also be joining forces with the Church to create an exciting angel discovery trail across the village for families to explore in the run up to Christmas, more on this will follow.

It is hoped that families and the community will walk around the village and follow "the angel trail".

Everyone is welcome to join in and a number of community groups are also involved to make the project really exciting.

Many thanks for your support in bringing festive cheer to Haydon Bridge.

Christmas Cards...
We’re starting to get a few questions about Christmas Cards and whether these will be allowed this year.

As you’re aware, we’re doing all we can to reduce the items brought from home to school, and where things would be passed to others (eg reading books), we have quarantine procedures in place.

Given the above, we will not being allowing children or staff to exchange Christmas Cards via school this year.

What we are proposing instead is that we'll have an afternoon of fun in school creating cards and other crafts. All the children will have a great time making these, then each child will bring home one card made by someone else from their class.

As you will have seen in the email on Friday, we have lots of other COVID safe Festive fun planned..... 🎄

Thanks everyone 😊
