We believe learning about and using technology helps to prepare children for the on-going innovations and developments in our world. Children are encouraged to become problem solvers, combining practical skills with design processes to solve real problems. Using design and technology and information technology children can develop a critical understanding of its impact on the world around them.
We have invested heavily in the equipment and resources available for children to use in school in this area. The IT set up in each classroom has been revised this academic year to include wide screen TVs with Google Chromecasts. Children have access to one of almost 40 Google chromebooks in school, and the use of Google classroom as a teaching tool is developing rapidly so that the children are using technology across all subject areas. Additionally we use Lego WeDo to give children practical opportunities to program, and some Apple devices are still used in order that children have an awareness of these as well.
